wr3n asked: What do you think of artificial sweeteners?

One of my vices (that I’ve tried to give up in 2011) is Diet Coke, so I am not really in any position to make statements about artificial sweeteners. If I’m baking, though, I don’t use them. If you’re going to have some cake or a cookie, make it worthwhile with real, good quality butter (hope creamery!) and sugar. Unfortunately, with the whole gluten-free thing, things are more complicated.

Anyway, my roommie, is a nutrition expert of sorts, and she recently told me that honey and unprocessed organic raw sugar are the best ways to go. Many people think that agave is a good substitute for sugar, but it is actually quite processed (read more about it on ChemicalFreeSkinny’s tumblr).
